Tropical, dreamy, warm, ethereal, vibrant
Branding, illustration, collateral
Skyflower is a tropical butterfly garden, home to exotic plants and beautiful butterflies from all around the world. This was a passion project that I came up with — from the brief, to the name, to the branding. This dream project stemmed from a combination of my love for butterflies, tropical weather, glasshouses, and nature! I'm obsessed with how it turned out & low key wish this was a real place because I would absolutely love to visit!
A little bit behind the thinking of this brand — the idea behind the name comes from the Duranta Erecta flower, also known as the "Skyflower". This flower attracts butterflies and is typically found in tropical climates, a perfect name for a tropical garden that is full of butterflies! The name also represents butterflies in the sense that they are like delicate little flowers that fly.
When it came to the completely hand drawn illustrations and brand pattern for Skyflower, I wanted this to tie back to the Duranta Erecta flower. The flowers tend to be bunched together very close and overlapping with a natural light coloured boarder around each flower, so I drew a bunch of different butterflies and made a collage of them.
The same goes for the icon, this was inspired by the actual shape of a Skyflower, if you'd like to see some pictures of the tropical flower that inspired most of this project, you can click here!
The wordmark logo and icons were all hand drawn from scratch.
I kept the edges a tiny bit bumpy on the logos to give it an overall organic look, which represents nature.
